SCF stands for Southern California Fibershed, a network of artisans, ranchers, and farmers between San Luis Obispo to San Diego. The garments below were handcrafted with merino wool from Cuyama Lamb based in Santa Barbara, hand dyed with invasive plants from Los Angeles by Huemane, and machine knitted and crocheted by artists, Barbara and Destiny, in Los Angeles.
The invasive plant species below are endemic to the region of Southern California and can be found just about anywhere. By working with color from local plants that need extraction we are playing in a part in creating a more balanced ecological landscape and encouraging habitat restoration.
